Abstract :
Canonic Lattice structure for realization of pair of FIR transfer functions has been implemented in fixed point. Analyses of this structure for finite wordlength and its effect on filter characteristics have been investigated. The performance of the filter is evaluated for deterioration in frequency response and signal-to-quantization noise ratio at the output for finite wordlength. Some conclusions have been drawn regarding order of the filter and minimum wordlength required for implementation. A simple modification in existing method has been proposed to improve the performance of structure in fixed point finite wordlength environment.
