Abstract :
Digital images have occupied all the fields of computer world. There is huge demand for storing and transferring images and videos in all applications. People not only demanding this facility but they want easy, fast access and performance too. Images contain large amount of pixel information, thus require more storage space and bandwidth for transmission. A thought of reducing data contained in images which is insignificant and redundant without harming quality of image extremely, is known as image compression. Vector Quantisation is most effective technique for image compression [1, 6]. In this paper we are proposing Thepade´s Transform Error Vector Rotation (TTEVR) with Orthogonal Transforms and Wavelets of orthogonal Transforms in RGB, LUV, YCbCr, and YUV colorspaces for image compression. Results show that TTEVR using wavelet transform generated with Kekre transform in RGB colorspace gives better image compression quality as compared to all transforms considered here.
