Abstract :
Laser Range Finders have wide battle field applications. Conventional Laser Range Finders are based upon TOF technique or complex phase detection based techniques. In this work a simple range finding technique is proposed for the precision measurement of range for typical battlefield range finding applications. A simple analog integrator is used to measure the phase between transmitted and received pulses precisely. A Silicon Labs 8051 family microcontroller has been used for implementing the algorithm. It is observed that accuracy of range finder can be improved to 750 times.
