Abstract :
Fiber optics provides the high speed communication over the dedicated connections. Security threats are the critical aspects in this network because of global and wide availability of network. To provide the secure and reliable communication some light weight and highly secure model is required. In this present work, Deffie Hellman based shared key cryptography model is integrated in Wide Area Monitoring System (WAMS) network. The public key cryptography is here applied on server end to perform key distribution and authentication. The session adaptive model has reduced the cryptography efforts so that the efficiency for communication is not degraded. The presented work model is simulated in OPNET environment. The simulation result shows that the end to end delay increase with the utilities of securities features.
