Abstract :
Wireless networking has become a popular area of research due to its strengths and wide scope of application in Communication. One of the challenging issues in WSN is energy efficiency, as the whole WSN is dependent on the power of batteries. So to get the desired performance in a network maximum utilization of energy is very important. A network number of algorithms like LEACH, TEEN etc have been proposed to make a network more efficient. But these algorithms dehydrate when it comes to energy management. In this paper, an enhanced Bacterial Foraging Optimization Algorithm (EBFOA) is proposed for energy efficiency in wireless systems. BFOA is a universally accepted optimization algorithm and is popular among the researchers due to its efficiency in solving energy related problems. In order to get energy efficiency in the network, a large number of alive nodes and efficient packet communication is used in with the wireless sensor networks. The results of EBFOA are analyzed and compared with the LEACH algorithm on a different parameter using Matlab.
