Abstract
Fitts´ law is an important law in human-computer interaction, but only gives the statistical relationship between distance and target size without taking into consideration the direction of the motion. An experiment related to the direction of Fitts´ law was designed based on ActionScript3. Through the statistics and analysis of the data, we found that efficiency of finger motion is not only related to the distance and target size, but also related to the direction. The most unfavorable angle is the direction at 45-degree to x axis downward. The finding will promote designer to consider the factor of direction when performing designing.
