  • Abstract
    Insulin pump is a device for continuous subcutaneous infusion of insulin. Insulin pump is reliable, small, light, and is becoming more and more sophisticated. Insulin pump can control the blood glucose more steadily and reduce the complications mostly. In this paper, an intelligent insulin pump is designed. It can infuse the insulin precisely using a stepper motor. The device adopts Chinese-displaying interface and has two modes of infusion, basal rate and preprandial bolus respectively. Among them, basal rate is continuous 24 hours with an accuracy of 0.05 U/h. Also, the basal rate can be configured by the special software. The preprandial bolus is based on the insulin-on-board estimation. It can avoid the hyper-or hypoglycemia effectively. The insulin pump with painless can help patients control the blood glucose concentration effectively and conveniently, thereby enhancing the quality of life of the diabetic patient.
