  • Abstract
    A phase error calibration algorithm for the uniformly spaced linear hydrophone array using the genetic algorithm is presented. Based on the Toeplitz character of the array covariance matrix, a cost function is constructed for the proposed algorithm. Unlike conventional algorithms, the proposed algorithm can be realized without additional calibrating sources for calibration or the prior knowledge of source direction. Simulation and application results that support the performance of the proposed method are also presented.
