  • Abstract
There are three different methods for analyzing instrument directivity radiation, but the efficiencies of these different methods are never compared. In this paper we attempted to provide accurate directivity patterns of G key Bangdi by extracting simultaneous full audio data in three different methods. G key Bangdi was recorded with the musician in an anechoic room with 34 microphones distributed around the player. The efficiencies of these different analyzing methods were examined through listening experiment. The results show that all three analysis methods are effective for directivity measurement, while peak values and directivity index values can obtain more detail data about single tones directivity. According to the measurement of Bangdi directivity radiation, we put forward the best recording position of Bangdi. The results can also be utilized with source modeling in room acoustics simulation and in research on musical acoustics.
