Abstract :
The paper proposes a symmetrical six-phase PMSM two-motor drive system which consists of a six-phase PMSM series-connected with a three-phase PMSM driven by a single inverter. This enables full decoupling vector control of the two machines. Detailed mathematical modeling of the system is presented. A simulation model with vector control is constructed by Matlab/simulink. The simulation results show that the speed changing of one motor has no influences on the other motor, which validate the feasibility of independent control of the two machines.
