Abstract
This paper presents experiments of the fixed protrusion on the enclosure defect on a 220 kV GIS equipment using UHF partial discharge measurement. PD data was captured by UHF detection used an oscilloscope and stored as phase resolved pulse sequence (PRPS) data. Then, the multiple PD patterns such as phase resolved pulse sequence analysis (PRPSA) pattern, phase resolved partial discharge (PRPD) pattern and Δu pattern can be calculated from the PRPS data sets. In addition, partial discharge trend curves are also to be used to depict the PD developed process. The multiple discharge patterns and PD parameters observed in this paper give a valuable PD characteristic interpretation and further research of PD pattern identification.
