The design of expression editor for vector network analyzer

In order to carry out more complex parameters measurement, the expression editor function is need to vector network analyzer. This paper explores a new method to carry out expression editor function of vector network analyzer. The expression editor allows user to input a complex algebraic expression of standard mathematical operators, complex numbers, custom parameters and functions, referencing data that is available in the vector network analyzer. If an improper algebraic expression is input, the expression editor will check errors and pop-up notations for user to amend the expression. If input expression is calculable, the display of the active trace of vector network analyzer is replaced with the results of the expression and updated in real-time.
