Abstract :
In this article, we evaluate the performance of the inbuilt functions of MATLAB for Particle Swarm Optimization and Pattern Search on a set of 28 real-parameter single objective optimization problems that were proposed in the IEEE Congress on Evolutionary Computation 2013. The evaluation is performed on the basis of 51 runs with three different problem sizes for each of the 28 optimization problems. Additionally, the algorithm complexities with variation of the problem size is also studied.
