Abstract :
A simple method to verify an interior permanent magnet synchronous motor (IPMSM) design is presented in this paper. The method is based on the maximum torque per ampere (MTPA) and the maximum torque per voltage (MTPV) curve of the motor. In order to verify the method, a specified motor is used as a sample and comparison is made with the results from a motor design software based on Finite Element Analysis (FEA). The result confirms that the presented method can be used as a predictive approach for verifying IPMSM design.
