Sunset Dawn: Using media technology to enhance a global festival of light

The Sunset Dawn is an arts and media festival connecting cities and locations where the sun is setting to cities and locations across the globe where the dawn is breaking. The connections via media such as Skype and webcam create a unique frame for a festival to celebrate the planet and the humanity we share. This paper outlines the history of the project and explains how its aims, ethos and vision for the future are served by an appropriate and sensitive use of technology.
