Abstract :
With the rapid development of modern technology, industries focus on manufacturing products having high-reliability and long-life span products to satisfy the changing needs of the customers. It is difficult to evaluate the reliability and lifetime of the product with established life testing. Thus, it is an urgent problem to be solved. CASH ACCEPTOR is an important module in Universal ATMs and it is intended for the self-service deposit solutions. The objective of this paper is to predict the reliability, life characteristics of the CASH ACCEPTOR module and its future failures. A case study of the CASH ACCEPTOR module with 3 years of field failure data has been taken into consideration to illustrate how the software tool will efficiently collect and analyze the data to be helpful for the particular software for reliability assessment. The software tool Weibull++ (version 9.0.16) from Reliasoft was used to predict the reliability, since it is the most used industry tool set available for life data analysis. Weibull analysis is also helpful in finding the root cause of the design failures.
