Abstract
The present paper treats the transient and the steady state modeling of an autonomous induction generator, in order to study its transient response as a function of several parameters. A simple method is proposed to determine the adequate excitation needed to reach the rated voltage in standalone operation. The efficiency of the recommended strategy is validated by a simulation model developed in Simulink environment to survey the process of the voltage rise up. Then, these results are tested by an experimental bench based on a 2hp-220/380V induction generator trained by a DC motor.
