Abstract :
Performance evaluation of VoIP is done by considering the network parameters jitter, packet end to end delay, and packet delay variation. Integration of Quality of Service (QoS) with the Internet Protocol (IP) and Multiprotocol Label Switching (MPLS)networks should enhance the performance of the network. Various scheduling algorithms can be used for implementing QoS on a network. In this paper, the simulation was done using OPNET modeler 14.5 and the results were analyzed. The simulation results show that using Traffic Engineering (TE) along with QoS in MPLS network decreases the jitter, packet delay variation and end to end packet delay compared to using IP network for voice traffic.
