Abstract :
Data Prefetching is the process of retrieving and caching data before the user has requested it. It is a technique proposed to reduce latency to data and ensure data access in case of disconnection. It can speed up the user´s experience with his mobile app. The main goal is to allow the users to have access permanently -in the next displacementto available information in an almost immediate way. The available techniques do not take into account the status of mobile devices and the mode of the app. This paper describes our proposed approach for prefetching data in mobile environment. We use WebSocket for sending/requesting data in real-time, which enables two-way communication between clients in a flexible, and short time manner. And rely on contextual information (user location, direction, speed, level of battery charge, availability of network, mode of the app) in order to decide when and which data will be prefetched in the near future.
