Abstract :
A metamaterial absorber with absorption in C and X band is presented in this paper. The unit cell of the absorber consists of square patch enclosed within the square shaped closed ring resonator (CRR) and connected at all four corners with each other. The proposed structure is having dual band absorbance with peak absorptivity of 90.7 % and 99.6 % at 4.2 GHz and 10.62 GHz, respectively. The proposed absorber has identical absorption characteristics for all angles of polarization. Power loss density in the dielectric and at resonator surface of the absorber is also calculated.
