Abstract
In this paper a hybrid antenna is presented, consisting of an annular DRA, exited in multiple modes with the help of a non-linear feed, producing a 64% wide impedance bandwidth covering almost entirely the X and Ku band. Different resonant modes of the DRA along with the radiating feed help to develop diversified patterns with varying operating frequency are reported in detail. This new compact design can find manifold applications in the domain of advanced antenna technology.
