Abstract :
This paper presents the effect of modeling the PV array with and without considering the recombination of charge carriers in space charge region. The main aim of the authors is to determine a model which can provide the results close to the experimental results. The series and shunt resistances are estimated using the Newton Raphson method with initial values derived from the basic equations of the models and the information provided by the manufacturer at standard test condition. To verify the procedure, modeling results were compared with the parameters provided by the manufacturer of ELDORA40 PV Panel. The relative errors between experimental and modeling results are computed. This comparison is useful for PV power converter designers who require accurate model for the PV array.
