Abstract :
The main objective of this paper is to enhance the performance of a VSC-HVDC system with an energy storage device, can control both active and reactive power independently. A three level neutral point clamped (NPC) VSC converter HVDC system is simulated in this paper. Results are shown for various load perturbations due to fault conditions at inverter end, and the performance analysis of VSC-HVDC is carried out with and without energy storage device. The performance of the system is simulated in Matlab/Simulink.
