Abstract :
Proposed work describes the brief idea about the novel optimization scheme having utilized joint characteristics of artificial neural network (ANN) and particle swarm algorithm (PSA), for designing dual band stacked patch antenna. Through the shorting post and slots in the classical stacked patch antenna geometry, size reduction has been achieved. Neural network model so called `neuromodel´ has been constructed, in order to relate the two operational frequencies of the antenna with its dimensional parameters. This is needed because this kind of relation is not available for the proposed antenna model. Then constructed ANN model has been used in the formation of fitness-function, which is required for the implementation of proposed `Neuro-swarm´ Optimizer. Developed Optimizer has been tested with the help of simulator and experimental results by designing miniaturized stacked patch antenna working within 2 GHz to 6 GHz, for ISM/WLAN dual band applications.
