Abstract :
The stability of FDTD method in arbitrary dispersion media is very import in many field. The von Neumann method combining with R-H criterion has been used to study the stability of the FDTD in arbitrary dispersion media, and the stability condition is proposed in this paper. Further, two examples is studied to show the validity of the stability of the proposed results. Because the arbitrary dispersion media is express as the general rational function, so the the stability condition in FDTD can easily be further extended to dual-negative media, even all kinds of dispersion medium.
