Abstract :
In order to prevent the influence from obstacles on reflector antenna´s performance, the installation environment of the reflector antenna is very strict. But on many platforms, the installation position of the reflector antenna cannot be easily changed. Therefore, it is necessary to know the effect of obstacle on the reflector antenna pattern. In this paper we have used simulation method to calculate the reflector antenna pattern influenced by metal obstacle, the obstacle is in two different shapes, cylindrical or prismatic. Then compared the influence extent of the obstacle´s different shape on antenna gain and half power beam width (HPBW). Analysis shows that, on the condition of a given separation distance, the obstacle in the cylindrical shape has a relatively small influence effect on the reflector antenna gain and HPBW than the obstacle in the prismatic shape, the trend of gain loss curve of the cylinder obstacle is also relatively flat.
