Abstract :
The minimum protection distance of meteorological receiving earth station in L band is analyzed in this paper, beyond which the receiving earth station in the frequency band 2200-2300MHz (L band) will not be interfered by the 4G LTE terminals. The methods to use in determination of the minimum protection distance are based on the ITU-R Recommendation P.1546-5 and the simulation analysis tool Wrap with the current typical technical characteristics of LTE system and meteorological receiving earth station. Through the field measurements, it is found that the calculation results obtained by Wrap are more practical and very close to the measured data. Furthermore, the effect of lumped interference from the LTE terminals to the single receiving earth station is also discussed in this paper. Finally, the operational and compatibility constraints for the above two services are given to ensure them working normally.
