Abstract :
Track circuit is one of the critical system in Train Control System that detecting the location of the vehicles. The track circuit could be affected by the harmonic generated by AC drive system. In this paper, a harmonic current measurement and manage system including hardware and software for evaluating the influence on track circuit system according CLS/TS 50238 is developed, and experimental measurements with respect to the harmonic of the vehicle traction system are carried out in Chinese railway line. Thus, the proposed measurement system could measure the harmonic current and evaluate the impact of harmonic current on Track Circuit system when the train is running. By analyzing the experimental data, the compatibility conclusion between Electric Multiple Units and Track Circuit, the distribution of the traction harmonic current and the regulations between traction harmonic current with different vehicle operating conditions are discussed.
