Abstract
The spectra of wind waves in lake Michigan was introduced for computing the electromagnetic scattering from the rough lake surface. In addition, the JONSWAP ocean spectrum is used in this article to generate numerical data for the scattering of random rough sea surface. The normalization RCS (NRCS) is computed as a function of the incidence angle. It is found that the NRCS of the scaled lake surface is equal to the data of the sea surface at near grazing incidence, while the discrepancy becomes increasingly greater than 3dB in other domain. It is also observed that the RCS of a given scaled target on the scaled lake surface is the same as the results of the corresponding target on the sea surface at the similar incident condition.
