Abstract :
The use of higher-order basis functions (HOBs) reduces the number of unknowns in method of moments (MoM) compared with the piecewise basis functions. To significantly improve the capability of MoM, a scalable parallel algorithm with a LU decomposition direct solver is extended to efficiently use more than 100K CPU cores on the world´s fastest supercomputer, Tianhe-2. The proposed algorithm has the potential to solve large complex problems that were unattainable in the past by MoM. An airplane model with 671,777 unknowns is simulated to demonstrate the performance of the proposed algorithm, and the overall time is only about 20 minutes.
