Abstract
GMR is the abbreviation of GEO-Mobile Radio interface. It is an extension of GSM from terrene to satellites. The function of GMR´s non-access stratum (NAS) is to provide mobile management (MM), call control (CC) and other supplement services (SS), so that it could be independent of the specific access network relatively. In this paper, the function of NAS is described in detail, including the technical realization of high penetration alerting which is newly added to GMR.
