Abstract :
Polarization maintaining (PM) fiber coupled DFB laser modules with a very high slope efficiency were demonstrated for 1550 nm WDM sources, obtaining a low operating current of 149 mA for CW 40 mW output power. Cavity length and coupling coefficient of the DFB laser were optimized to realize low operating current as well as high wavelength stability.
