Abstract
There is a growing interest in adaptive multimedia services where the bandwidth of an ongoing call is variable during its lifetime. We propose a bandwidth adaptation algorithm (BAA) considering multiple types of adaptive multimedia services in wireless/mobile networks. Assuming discrete bandwidth values of adaptive multimedia, we introduce our BAA which is of low complexity while achieving near optimal revenue. Simulation is carried out to compare our algorithm with the optimal BAA.
