Abstract
This paper describes a new Mobile IP protocol supporting wide area networks. The Scalable Mobile IP (SMIP) allows any mobile host to move inside a large-scale area while being transparently connected to the Internet by using its permanent IP address. This protocol does not need to change other applications used to communicate with mobile hosts (MH), and has some new features over other mobile host IP, for instance, it is more scalable, faster, and more secure.
