Abstract
A compression filter design method that can control the range resolution and the sidelobe level is proposed. The approach is based on received signal oversampling and mismatched filter design. In the synthesis of the mismatched filter an algorithm for maximal sidelobe suppression has been used. This idea can be applied in high resolution radar and sonar design.
