Abstract
This paper reviews the progress in fiber dispersion compensators. Different dispersion compensation technologies including dispersion compensation fibers, fiber Bragg gratings, virtual image phased array and planar waveguide-based devices are discussed with the focus on new developments in dispersion and dispersion slope compensation fibers.
