Abstract :
Data has been collated in this paper-going back as far as available resources permit-in order to analyse the structural problems of the electric power sector in developing countries, with special reference to the public and private domains of that sector. In this context, asset and capital structures of the sectors have been determined and presented in comparative form. These are the most important indicators of a sector´s performance and operations efficiency. With a view to completeness, the same analyses have also been performed for the industrial sector, observing the same distinction between the public and private domains, and allowing a comparison between the development trends and relationships in structural and funding problems of the electric power and industry sectors.
