  • Abstract
Physico-chemical modificated biomaterials dedicated for valve prostheses have been tested after various methods for optimisation the process of their treatment. The authors tested fresh, cryopreservated, glutardehyded (GA) and photoxidated material. The data presented includes results of the qualification test and computer simulation of valve work, stress-strain and shrinkage temperature and calcification (in vitro and in vivo). In conclusion, the authors´ system, consisting of self-constructed devices, passed successfully all tests and is able to test different types of biomaterials and heart valve prostheses. The treatment by GA is shown to be simpler and shows better repeatability of measurements than photoxidation. Because the results of tests of the photooxidated tissue are promising, the authors are working on automation and better controlling of the process.
