Abstract :
The first part of this paper represents by means of the functional block diagram the optical infrared touch interface whose function is detection of touch on the screen of the touch terminal/monitor. Then an optimal receiver is formed for separation of the active component of the touch signal for the case when white Gaussian noise is superimposed. In the second part of this paper the error probability in making a decision on the existence or non-existence of the optical infrared beam between the transmitter and the receiver of the selected optical infrared pair is calculated. On the basis of this the optimal decision threshold is determined.
