The Virtual Laboratory project

This paper describes the idea and implementation of a virtual laboratory. The lab supports faculty courses on embedded systems, the development of control algorithms, distributed systems and open computing systems. A brief description of the virtual laboratory environment is given and its hardware and software components are described. A comparison with classic laboratory environments is made. The use of the system in the training process is described. Further developments and enhancements are discussed.
