Abstract :
A zero voltage switching (ZVS) DC link, single-phase, pulse width modulated, voltage source inverter (VSI) is proposed. Operating principle and various operating intervals of the converter are presented and analyzed. Design considerations are discussed and a design example of a 300 VA VSI is given. Experimental results from a laboratory prototype model are presented. ZVS is achieved for forward and reverse power flow, without increasing the voltage stress on the inverter devices
