Abstract
There are numerous facts in our world that must be taught and learned every day. Conceptual learning can promote both processes. However, in spite of the performance of modern technologies, computer aided tools for conceptual learning are still rarely used in everyday practice. The article presents and discusses the animations of cardiac diseases and their surgical treatments. Such animations enable the students of medicine to apply the principles of conceptual and mastery learning, improve their problem solving skills, and become independent life-long learners.
