Abstract
In this paper a two-dimensional network structure consisting of elements with lumped RLC parameters is analysed. Such a network can represent an equivalent electrical model of a planar microwave structure. Modelling of the planar microwave structure is based on decomposition of the RLC network into cascade-connected ladder networks with 2L ports. Each ladder subnetwork can be described by its chain matrix which is obtained by expressing the voltages and currents at the input of the terminals in terms of those at the output terminals. The output voltages of whole network can be obtained from the over-all chain matrix.
