Abstract
An EDFA gain profile was athermalized passively using a phase-shifted long period fiber grating with low background loss of 0.9 dB. Gain variation was suppressed to 0.25 dBpp in the temperature range of 0-65°C over 40 nm of C-band with 2.1 dB gain.
