Abstract
We utilize the transfer matrix method to study the electronic conductance through one-dimensional wire containing periodic potential and serial stub structures. The conductance spectrum is analyzed and compared with each other. Some essential differences are pointed out. We show that a short length of stubs will produce a spectrum like to that of delta-function potential repeated periodically. The dependence of the electronic conductance on the various physical parameters could be used for the fabrication of a new kind of mesoscopic device.
