Abstract :
Multimode polymer waveguides are used for optical backplanes with dimensions up to 1000 mm × 300 mm. The attenuation is 0.03 dB/cm at 840 nm. Data transmission with 2.5 Gbps/channel has been successfully demonstrated. Environmental testing proved the qualification for avionic and telecommunication environments.
