The PPP-method for analysis of electromagnetic fields in the presence of dielectric bodies

A method is proposed for analysis of electromagnetic fields in the presence of dielectric bodies. Essentially, the method is a combination of a perturbation and an iterative method. It consists in increasing the electric susceptibility of the medium in small increments and solving the system approximately starting from zero susceptibility and known excitation (or incident) electric field in a vacuum to actual permittivity and the total electric field (excitation field plus the field due to the polarized dielectric obtained in the previous step). The solution of any problem using the method is reduced to first principles (the electric field of an electric dipole). From the initial letters of the Serbo-Croatian words postepeno povecavenje parametara, meaning ´gradual increase of parameters´, the method is termed briefly the PPP-method.
