Abstract :
A simple all-optical 3R regenerator utilizing cross-absorption modulation (XAM) in an RF-driven electroabsorption waveguide is proposed. The all-optical 3R regeneration capability of the proposed method was examined at 20 Gbps, and regeneration including reduction of timing jitter was successfully verified.
