Abstract :
Ferromagnetic resonance measurements and thermomagnetic, Mossbauer and scanning tunneling microscopic investigations were performed in order to determine the effect of ion implantation on the magnetic properties of Fe-Cr-Si-B amorphous alloys. 10/sup 17/-N/sup +//cm/sup 2/, 100-keV ion implantation resulted in an increase in room-temperature magnetization and Curie temperature. It produced in-plane compressive stresses, resulting in a magnetic easy axis perpendicular to the surface.
