Abstract :
An analysis of the new method for measuring ac losses in superconducting magnets is described. The integral of compensated voltage across the magnet and a magnet current differential are multiplied. The result of multiplication is integrated and digitally displayed. The accuracy of the electronic joulemeter based on the double integration method is discussed and the calibration technique is briefly described. The presented method is also suitable for hysteresis losses or magnetization measurements on short samples where the loop area provides necessary information.
